OpenFRBR and Azkaban test
OpenFRBR’s showing a bunch of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban stuff now. I got ISBNs from thingISBN and xISBN, got MARC records (found them for about half of the ISBNs), processed it with the new version of the LC FRBRization tool (temporary location) that Jodi Schneider found out about, cleaned up some MARC records with bad 240/243/245 fields, and loaded it up into OpenFRBR. I’ll post some thoughts about all this later. I’m getting a better idea of what’s involved.
I fascinated by the idea that half the ISBNs didn’t have MARC records, and I’d love to have a look at the data. I assume that all the xISBN ISBNs have MARC records, so does the half without represent ISBNs from thingISBN?
Would it be possible for you to make your SQLite database file available for download?
Comment by Graeme Williams — 17 November 2008 @ 11:00 amI wasn’t clear–they didn’t have MARC records in the open Z39.50 servers I queried. I’m sure WorldCat has them and I’m going to use the WorldCat API so I should be able to get everything. I’ll redo things and report back.
The SQLite file is here: azkaban-20081116.sqlite3.
